Marriage Licenses

MARRIAGE LICENSE APPLICATIONS – To apply for a marriage license in Ionia County, one of the applicants must live in this County.   You should know the information off of your birth certificate, such as your parents’ place of birth.  If you are 18 years of age, you must present your birth certificate when filling out an application. The cost is $20.  There is a three day waiting period. Afterward, the license can be picked up or mailed to you.  The license is then valid  and should be used within 33 days from the date of the application.

MARRIAGE RECORDS – Marriage records are available from 1837 – to date. The cost for a certified copy is $10 for the first copy and $5 for each additional copy of the same record.
