Two-thirds of Ionia County citizens support more countywide planning
and zoning
In the spring of 2000, Michigan State University's Institute for Public Policy and
Social Research (IPPSR) conducted a scientific survey of Ionia County citizens to
determine their views toward planning and zoning issues.
The survey, entitled "Planning For Our Future",
was sent to more than 1,800 randomly selected individuals with a response
rate of 42 percent.
On the question: "Do you favor or oppose more planning and zoning within
Ionia County?" the responses were overwhelmingly in favor of more planning
and zoning.
