The office of Register of Deeds is an elected position and is currently held by Diane Adams.  She has a staff of four, consisting of Rhonda Lake - Chief Deputy, Dianne Sheaffer - Abstractor/Deputy, Luann Hendee and Yvonne Maus.

The Register of Deeds Office records, files, maintains, and retrieves all documents relating to real and personal property in Ionia County.

The Register of Deeds Office is the keeper of all records pertaining to the transfer or encumbrance of real estate in the county. The documents are receipted, time stamped, assigned document numbers and indexed by name and property descriptions. The records date back to 1833 and any one document can be retrieved and copied within a matter of minutes.

Box 35, Ionia, Michigan 48846, visiting the Courthouse - office is located in the Southwest corner of the main floor of the Courthouse, calling (616) 527-5320, or faxing (616) 527-8234.

Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - Noon and 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
