Computer Aided Dispatch...

Our CAD system is provided by Logistic Systems from Missoula Montana.

After a year long study that included testing and presentations from various vendors around the United States, we decided to purchase our system from Logistic Systems.

The system is based on IBM RS6000 computers running AIX 4.x operating system. If you click on the link above it will take you to their web site where you can learn all about our CAD system.

This system will allow us to upgrade our system to comply with Phase 2 of the Wireless Technology Act that President Clinton signed into Law earlier this year.

This Law and out CAD system, working together, will enable us to identify and locate cellular callers inside Ionia County. This only enhances what we already can do with our current system, such as selecting the fastest route to an emergency, locate current valid addreses in the county, track our emergency response vehicels progress to a call and for safety once on scene.

All of this cooridnation is necessary to provide the Citizens of Ionia County with the most efficent and cost effective way to answer their emergency and non-emergency needs.
