The Ionia County Planning Commission is dedicated to bringing Ionia County citizens together an in effort to determine the future of Ionia County.

The purpose of this web site is to share with Ionia County citizens and interested parties information about the activities of the commission.

* The 2002 Ionia County Master Plan has been adopted by the Ionia County Planning Commission (June 11, 2002). Please feel free to review the plan online.

* Ionia County Zoning Ordinance Update -

• The Ionia County Board of Commissioners adopted the Ionia County Zoning Ordinance Draft as presented by the Ionia County Zoning Ordinance at their regular Board Meeting held on June 28, 2004.
• The Notice of Adoption was published on June 30, 2004, in the Sentinel-Standard newspaper. Also on June 30, 2004, a Notice of Intent to file a petition for submission of the Ionia County Zoning Ordinance to electors was filed, placing the actual enactment of the Ordinance on hold until after the November elections were held.
• The November 2, 2004 election resulted in a majority of votes against the Ionia County Zoning Ordinance. Please feel free to view the Ionia County Zoning Ordinance draft that was voted on.

* We have received Master Plans from surrounding communities, townships, and counties. These documents may be viewed by selecting the Other Master Plan links.

* We've also collected a few additional land use links, as well as some information on watershed links. Please feel free to share any other links you find with us so that can add them to our pages.
