The Ionia County Substance Abuse Initiative (ICSAI) is a workgroup under the Ionia County Child, Family and Community Council (ICCFCC). The ICCFCC serves as the substance abuse advisory committee to the Ionia County Board of Commissioners. In 2005, the workgroup developed a 5-Year Strategic Plan in regards to substance abuse within Ionia County. To view that plan, click HERE. Ionia County Health Plan
The Ionia County Health Plan is a community-sponsored program that provides a defined set of health benefits for the uninsured. This program provides a locally organized system for the provision of basic health care services to low-income, uninsured residents who are not eligible for mainstream medical assistance programs. For two years, the Ionia County Health Department worked to enact this program and it is now a reality. The plan covers doctor visits, outpatient labs and x-rays, and certain prescriptions, most of which do require a co-pay. The plan is county based, so it is tailored to Ionia County's needs. For more information regarding this program, please contact the Ionia County Health Department at (616)527-5341 or check the link-Health Plan Brochure.
