The Register of Deeds Office is the keeper of all records pertaining to the transfer or encumbrance of real estate in the county. The documents are receipted, time stamped, assigned document numbers and indexed by name and property descriptions. The records date back to 1833 and any one document can be retrieved and copied within a matter of minutes. Records from 1989 to current are available on computer indexes, with digital images of documents to view or print from our computers. Web service allows users to view/print directly from our real-time web index.
Mapping and Description can help with searches for historical and current information, using property descriptions and maps to locate specific details pertaining to properties. Examples of searches would be for easements or to determine missing or incorrect property descriptions.
