Ionia County Groundwater and Resource Recovery Office

The Ionia County Groundwater and Resource Recovery Office has the unique position of serving the county in two capacities:

• Provide education and technical assistance to landowners about groundwater risks and ways to reduce those risks
  
• Provide a resource office for information and programs relating to Solid Waste Management.
  

Having both “departments” function from one office allows for the county to better address the needs of the county regarding both groundwater and solid waste management, as both are often interconnected on many levels -- especially since the mismanagement of solid waste can lead to the detriment of our groundwater, or drinking water, supply.
