TACTICAL TEAM

Mission Statement

Due to the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office recognizing the need for a highly trained and equipped tactical unit, the Ionia County Critical Incident Team (ICCIT) was formed. Evidence has proven that a highly skilled tactical unit is more likely to achieve an outcome without unnecessary injury or death among police, hostages, civilians, and the suspect. The ICCIT will be able to provide resources and tactical support where the need is greater than the resources and support provided by normal police patrol response.

The ICCIT will be trained and equipped to execute high-risk search warrants, serve high-risk arrest warrants, and address barricaded suspect situations in homes, businesses, and schools.
